Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

1. Introduction

The Fellowship Hall ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us, including:

  • Account information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
  • Church/organization information: Church name, location, contact details, and website when registering an organization.
  • Event information: Event titles, descriptions, dates, locations, and contact details for events you create.
  • Usage data: We may collect general usage information such as pages visited and features used to help improve our service.
  • Location data: If you choose to use "Use My Location" or search by zip code, your approximate location is used to find nearby events and churches. Location is used for that search only — it is not saved to your account or stored on our servers. Location lookups (such as converting a zip code to coordinates) are performed via the OpenStreetMap Nominatim geocoding service.

We use third-party service providers who process data on our behalf to run the Service: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Netlify (website hosting), Upstash (rate limiting — it processes IP addresses to prevent abuse), and map/geocoding providers (OpenStreetMap, CARTO) which receive your IP address when map tiles or location searches load. We do not sell data to any of them.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain our services
  • To display event listings to the public
  • To verify church organizations and manage accounts
  • To communicate with you about your account or events
  • To improve our website and user experience
  • To enforce our Terms of Service and Posting Guidelines

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Information you provide for event listings (such as event details, venue locations, and contact information) will be publicly displayed as part of the event listing. We may share information if required by law or to protect the safety and security of our users and services.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. Our services are built on Supabase, which provides industry-standard encryption and security practices. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Cookies

We use only essential session cookies, set by our authentication provider (Supabase Auth), to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies of any kind.

7. Your Rights

You may update or delete your account information at any time through your account settings. If you wish to have your data completely removed from our systems, please contact us and we will process your request in a reasonable timeframe.

Data retention: We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Past event listings may remain visible as part of a church's public history unless the church or we remove them.

California residents: Under the CCPA you have the right to know what personal information we collect (described in Section 2), the right to request deletion of your personal information, the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 10.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Creating an account requires confirming that you are at least 13 years old, and we keep a record of that confirmation. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date, and for material changes we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users by email before the change takes effect. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Contact Us

For questions about this Privacy Policy, or to exercise any of the rights described above (including data deletion requests), email us at tristansujanani@gmail.com. We respond to privacy requests within 30 days.
